ROOTED

Rebuilding a Life of Purpose, Joy, and Impact

A Six-Week Life Development & Group Coaching Program

Helping people rediscover who they are, what matters most, and how to begin building a meaningful path forward.

When Life Changes, Where Do We Begin?

Life can change in ways we never expected. Experiences such as recovery, homelessness, trauma, loss, instability, difficult relationships, and other major life transitions can disrupt our sense of identity and direction, leaving us asking important questions:

Who am I now?
What really matters to me?
Where is my life going?
How do I begin building something different?

Rooted is a six-week life development and group coaching program offered by Dr. Lena Holmes Ministries to help participants explore these questions in a supportive, structured environment.

Rather than defining people by what has happened to them, Rooted helps participants look more deeply at who they are, what they value, how they respond to life's challenges, and the kind of life they want to begin building.

“What has happened to us is part of our story, but it does not have to become the whole story of who we are or who we can become.”

How Does Rooted Work?

Rooted is designed around a simple idea: meaningful change begins when we become more aware of who we are, what matters to us, and how our everyday choices shape the life we are building.

Over six weeks, participants move through a guided process of reflection, discovery, and practical action.

Participants are encouraged not only to consider what they want to change, but also to identify realistic practices and small actions they can start incorporating into everyday life.

The Six-Week Rooted Journey

IDENTITY

Who am I?

Participants begin separating identity from circumstances, labels, past choices, and the expectations of others while recognizing strengths and the person they are becoming.

VALUES

What matters most?

Participants identify their core values and consider whether their everyday choices and behaviors reflect what they say matters most.

HEALING

Learning to be still, feel, and respond.

Participants develop emotional and spiritual practices that help them notice difficult feelings and make more intentional choices rather than automatically reacting.

PURPOSE
What is my reason for existence?

Participants explore strengths, interests, experiences, curiosity, and other clues that may help them discern meaning, direction, and ways they can contribute.

RELATIONSHIPS

How do I build a supportive environment?

Participants examine communication, boundaries, relationship patterns, and the people and communities that can support continued growth.

MY PATH FORWARD
Putting it all together.

Participants bring what they have discovered into a practical plan built around a few meaningful insights, healthier practices, supportive relationships, and achievable next steps.

The goal is not to change everything in six weeks. It is to discover a few things that can begin changing what comes next.

Who Is Rooted For?

Rooted is designed for adults who are rebuilding, reexamining, or redirecting their lives following significant life challenges or transitions.

  • Rebuilding life during or following recovery

  • Experiencing or transitioning from homelessness or housing instability

  • Moving forward following trauma, loss, or significant disruption

  • Reentering the community after incarceration or another major transition

  • Reexamining identity, values, relationships, or direction

  • Seeking greater purpose, stability, and a meaningful path forward

Rooted may be especially helpful for those who are:

Although the Rooted program is offered from a Christian worldview, participants do not have to identify as Christian to participate. All are invited to engage with the program’s faith-based material respectfully and honestly while exploring their own experiences, questions, and next steps.

Bring Rooted to Your Organization

Dr. Lena Holmes Ministries partners with organizations that are committed to helping people rebuild their lives, strengthen their sense of identity and purpose, and move toward greater stability and well-being.

Rooted can complement the services already being provided by recovery programs, transitional and supportive housing programs, reentry organizations, churches and ministries, and other community-based organizations serving people navigating significant life transitions.

A Rooted partnership begins with a conversation.

We welcome the opportunity to learn about your organization, the people you serve, and the goals you are working toward. Together, we can explore whether Rooted would be an appropriate fit for your setting and discuss how the six-week program could be offered in partnership with your organization.
